The Sheen Way of Life
Think. Pray. Love. Like Sheen.
Sheen asked who was going to save the Church. He answered his own question, and the answer was not the hierarchy. It was the laity — people who would take responsibility for the state of the world in front of them.
A Fulton Sheen Movement member is someone who has stopped judging from the sidelines, stopped procrastinating from within, and has moved into action for Christ.
Membership is free. It always will be. It is not a subscription, not a donor level, and not something that can be bought. It is a commitment to a way of living that Sheen practiced himself for sixty years without a single day of interruption. When you join, you receive a template to download and print your member card. On the back is what you have agreed to live. It fits in your wallet or as a marker in your bible on purpose — it is meant to be carried, looked at, and lived.
The Four Commitments
These commitments are personal, and no one will audit them. They are between you and the Lord. But they are meant to hold you accountable, and they are what make you a Sheen-like leader.
The Daily Eucharistic Holy Hour
Members honor a daily set time of prayer (minimum 15 minutes each day), and they commit to at least one Holy Hour each week before the Blessed Sacrament. The goal of every member is to strive toward a consistent daily Eucharistic Holy Hour.
This direction is where Sheen was pointing — the daily Eucharistic Holy Hour, worked toward honestly over years rather than promised on day one and then quickly abandoned.
This is the foundation of everything else, and it is the practice Sheen prioritized above all others. He made his Holy Hour every day from his ordination in 1919 until his death in 1979, and he said plainly that his priesthood was held together by it. He appealed to all Catholics, priests and laity alike, to make it every day. Sheen called all, priests, religious, and laity to this daily prayer practice. He emphasised a set time each day, in their home or before the Blessed Sacrament.
Keep your weekly hour before the Blessed Sacrament where adoration is available; keep your daily time of prayer wherever you are, before a crucifix or an image of Our Lady if that is what your vocational demand allows.

The Daily World Mission Rosary and Marian Entrustment
Sheen created the World Mission Rosary in 1951, assigning each decade a color and a continent so that anyone praying it would be carried, decade by decade, around the whole world. Members pray it daily — together online when possible. It takes the ordinary Rosary and turns it outward — you cannot pray it attentively and remain narrow and self-focused. It is the simplest missionary act available to a layperson, and it costs nothing but twenty minutes of your day. Get your Fulton Sheen Rosary HERE.
Additionally, Sheen dedicated every book he wrote to Our Lady and called her the world’s first love. Members make a personal act of consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary and renew it annually. The form is yours to choose — many use the traditional preparation and consecration of St. Louis de Montfort, or the consecration prayer of St. Maximilian Kolbe. Others make a simpler personal entrustment using the Sheenesque formula in the book, Show Me Your Scars. What matters is that it is made deliberately and renewed annually.
Giving to the Vulnerable
Sheen spent sixteen years as National Director of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, and he did not treat the missions as a department but as an encounter with Christ in the poor. Members who give regularly to the Movement, in turn, support our giving partners — the Vulnerable People Project and the Society for the Propagation of the Faith.
We allocate your donor dollars with stewardship and precision, and we tithe regularly to our vetted and trusted partners. Your regularity is a great commitment and one that emboldens and strengthens faith. Sheen’s conviction was that a faith which costs the believer nothing has not yet reached the heart.

Forming the Mind
Sheen was a philosopher before he was a broadcaster. He won the Cardinal Mercier Prize at Louvain in 1923, the first American to do so, and what made him effective in front of a camera was never showmanship. It was that he had thought the arguments all the way together with St. Thomas, and could therefore afford to be simple and relatable.
Members commit to ongoing formation of the mind: reading Sheen at the source, a book at a time, and taking up the workshops, retreats, pilgrimages, and study the Movement offers. Members are not satisfied with just quick summaries or popular quotation images. They want to learn from Him and to learn to think like him.

The Online Community
Our online community is made up of people across six continents and seventy-nine countries — the same network that gathered more than fourteen thousand signatures for Sheen’s cause. This is the community that prays the World Mission Rosary together on weekdays. Your prayer requests are answered by people who actually pray for your needs. This is not a social feed; it is where you find the people carrying what you are carrying, and where the deeper conversations about Sheen actually happen.

Formation Workshops
Live, recurring workshops led by Dr. Peter Howard and guest teachers, working through Sheen’s theology at the source: his Christology, his Mariology, his account of the human person, his method as a communicator. Recordings available if you cannot attend live.
This is formation and inspiration — you may be asked to read, and asked to take action.

Members get first access to conference registration, pilgrimages, retreats, and rallies before they open to the public. Many of these experiences sell out.

Renewal Day
Every year on September 20 — the anniversary of Sheen’s ordination and of the resolution he made that day — the whole Movement renews together in person or online. Members renew their Marian consecration, take honest stock of how close the daily hour has come, and pray the World Mission Rosary as one body around the world.

Membership is free and always will be. The Movement is not.
The workshops, the online community, the cards, the resources we publish free to everyone, the rallies, the conferences, and the people who keep it all running are paid for by donors. If you are able to give, please give. If you are not, carry the Sheen card anyway and lead others to Christ as he did.
Because we offer nothing in return for donations, every dollar you give is fully tax-deductible.

Membership Questions
Is membership really free?
Yes, and it stays free. The card, the community, the workshops, and early access to events cost nothing. There is no paid tier, no upgrade, and nothing held back for people who give. Donations are welcome and they are what keep the Movement running, but they buy nothing and change nothing about your standing here.
I cannot commit to a daily Holy Hour. Can I still join?
Yes, and the commitment is written for exactly that. You are not promising a daily hour on the day you join. You are promising a set time of prayer each day and one Holy Hour each week, and you are pointing yourself toward the daily hour over the years ahead. Most members begin here. Sheen spent his life persuading ordinary people to take this up; he was not looking for people who had already arrived. Do I have to donate?
No. Membership is free, and it is not a fundraising funnel. If you can give, it helps enormously, and it is fully tax-deductible. If you cannot, take up the Sheen way of life and carry your card as a reminder of who you are as a fellow Sheen leader.
Sheen did not ask his audience to admire or celebrate him. He asked them to do something… he asked them to become saints.
The card is a small, simple way to anchor your identity in Christ. The commitments are timeless, and none of them require you to be extraordinary — Sheen asks only that you be consistent.
