Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, and in full. The Fulton Sheen Movement is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 26-3691775. We provide no goods or services in exchange for donations, so the entire amount of your gift is deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. A receipt is issued for every contribution.
Where does my money actually go?
Gifts support four things: formation — courses, workshops, retreats, and book clubs; media — production and distribution of teaching that carries Sheen’s message; mission — rallies, pilgrimages, conferences, and grassroots outreach; and giving — our members’ support of the most vulnerable through our partners. Administrative and fundraising costs are kept as lean as a growing organization allows.
Why give monthly instead of once?
Recurring gifts are the difference between reacting and planning. A monthly donor lets us commit to a venue, a production schedule, or a formation series months ahead, because we know what is coming in. It is the single most useful thing a supporter can do, and it is usually easier on the household budget than a single large gift.
Can I designate my gift to a specific purpose?
Yes, within reason. If you would like your gift directed toward a particular initiative — the conference, a pilgrimage scholarship, or our giving partners — note it when you give or email [email protected]. We will honor designations where the initiative is active and will contact you before redirecting a gift if circumstances change.
What is the relationship between the Fulton Sheen Movement and the Fulton Sheen Institute?
The Fulton Sheen Movement is the nonprofit. The Fulton Sheen Institute is a separate organization that produces theological content, courses, and formation programming. Where the Movement engages the Institute for services, the arrangement is documented and approved under our conflict-of-interest procedures, and interested parties do not vote on it. Your donation to the Movement supports the Movement’s charitable mission.
How do I update or cancel a recurring gift?
Zeffy donor account, go to My Transactions, select your recurring donation, and choose Cancel Renewal. No further payments will be processed. Canceling does not refund payments already completed. If you need help, email [email protected] — there is no waiting period and no process to endure. We would rather you give what is sustainable for years than more than you can carry for a few months.
